Erin Griffin, D.O.
Being born and raised in North Carolina, I am thrilled to join Onslow Primary Care as one of their primary care physicians. I am originally from Sanford, NC and now live in Surf City, NC. I attended UNC Chapel Hill for my undergraduate degree. Go Heels !! There, I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I then took a year off, which I partly spent traveling in Australia. Living in Sydney I began to appreciate my interest in promoting a healthy lifestyle and counseling patients in nutrition. I now incorporate this into my practice and provide weight loss and wellness counseling. For my Doctor of Osteopathic Degree I attended Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY; and from there completed residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. While I am not busy working or enjoying the beach I am also very involved in the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association and was recently elected president. I look forward to establishing myself in Jacksonville, NC and contributing to good patient care in the local area.

John Scheck MD, M, Ac., MS
I am very happy to join the Onslow Primary Care team here in Jacksonville. While I was raised in Richmond, VA, my most recent medical experience is from Anchorage, Alaska. For ten years I was a Board Certified Family Medicine physician and urgent care doctor that worked in the city and did wilderness medicine in the outlying native villages. Transportation was by float plane that gave me a birds eye view of the beautiful Alaskan wilderness. In Anchorage I was also the owner of an integrative medical practice that included lifestyle medicine, natural medicine, acupuncture and old fashion primary care. We focused on the basic tenets of health including diet, exercise, sleep and stress. We found that vitalizing a person’s health was the best way to combat disease!
Previous to that I was in Florida where I graduated from Atlantic School of Oriental Medicine with a masters degree in acupuncture and a masters in Public Health. I owned an alternative medicine clinic in Ft. Lauderdale and was an herbal consultant with Whole Foods during that time. AND previous to that I was a sailboat captain in the Caribbean.
My main focus at Onslow will be a return to great Family Medicine and introducing an integrative approach to health care for my patients. We will not only focus on present problems and medical issues but look forward to what you would like your future health to be. We are introducing acupuncture to our clinic. Problems like fibromyalgia, migraines, muscle pain and spasm, carpal tunnel syndrome are treated very well with acupuncture. It also works very well for stress related issues such as anxiety, insomnia and depression, with or without drug therapy. I also specialize in men’s health including testosterone therapy and erectile dysfunction, weight loss and general conditioning. I encourage my patients to take responsibility for their health care and become proactive to achieve life goals.
